Spring Wild Medicine Workshop

Oakbrook Farm, Stroud -  9th May

On this hands-on workshop, you will explore and learn all about the wild spring plants growing around us that can support our health this season after the colder, darker months of winter. Learn how to safely work with local medicinal plants to craft your own 'spring tonic' and herbal tea blend.

During the first part of the morning, we will head out for a walk on beautiful Oakbrook Farm, where you will meet and learn about the wild plants that can be used as medicine to benefit our health this spring. You will learn about the traditional uses of key spring herbs, their medicinal actions and uses in current herbal medicine practice, as well as how to safely identify and sustainably forage them for making your own medicine.

In the second half of the morning we will head to the barn and you will be guided on how to craft your own ‘spring tonic’ vinegar or tincture, working with freshly foraged plants gathered on our walk. Participants will also be guided on how to blend their own bespoke spring tea, working from a selection of dried herbs.

Various herbal preparations will be sampled throughout the morning. Participants all receive a handout of spring remedies and recipes to take home. There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions, as well as the chance to browse useful books and other herbal resources.
